It is also present in Burma, Nepal and Pakistan. The sheesham grows near the banks of the rivers, up to a maximum of 1500 meters. The optimal temperatures are between 10 and 40 degrees, but it can withstand frost and drought. The tree reaches maturity between 30 and 40 years. It can reach 40 meters in height. It is cultivated intensively and often used for reforestation works. Its wood is hard, durable, with high density and specific weight. It is seldom attacked by tarls. Its color can be golden or brown. It is a good wood for the construction of furniture, also used for building and for boat construction.
